A normal infantry logistics officer paid a visit to commando camp. Walking past the parade square, he saw a group of commandos trying to stand on top of one another, with a measuring tape. He asked them what they were doing and they told him they were trying to measure the flag pole.

After watching them try and fail countless number of times, the logistics officer suggested: Why don't you just remove the screws at the bottom, lower down the flag pole to horizontal position and measure it!

The commandos thought for a while, and then said: What kind of suggestion is that? We are measuring the height, not the lenght!
